Zorianna's Journey Home
Lia first connected with our church family—the Northwest Church of Christ—at our Community Christmas Meal in December 2025. As we visited with her, she shared the challenges she was facing as a mother working toward reunification with her daughter. Her desire to bring her daughter home was deep and sincere, and she was committed to doing the hard work required. As we listened, it became clear that much of what led to her daughter entering state custody might have been prevented if Lia had a strong support system—a community to walk with her and help shoulder the weight.
From the beginning, Lia showed a genuine heart for people. She is compassionate, warm, and eager to help others in need. Over time, our church family has had the blessing of building meaningful relationships with both Lia and her daughter, Zorianna. We have shared meals together, enjoyed mom‑and‑child play dates, served side‑by‑side, attended court hearings, and prayed through difficult seasons.
Whenever Zorianna has been home, Lia has faithfully brought her to worship and church activities, showing her commitment to raising her daughter in a loving, Christ‑centered community.
Recently, we were able to celebrate a beautiful milestone—they are now very close to full reunification. Our church family hosted a “Gotcha Back Home” celebration in their honor, showering them with gifts, joy, and overwhelming love. It was a moment of hope, healing, and answered prayers.
A Message from Lia
"I first came to the Christmas meal at Northwest Church of Christ and then came to church that next Sunday and have been at as many of the community events and services that I have been physically able to attend. The support that Northwest has been in our lives has been so meaningful. Because of Northwest being so caring and involved, I have been able to show my case workers that I now have a supportive community around us. I am so blown away by the love that I have been shown."
